Larkin cancels Saturday's Slugfest softball tournament

Due to the impending rain and cold forecast for Saturday, the 22nd annual Larkin Slugfest softball tournament at the Elgin Sports Complex has been canceled.

Elgin, Larkin, St. Edward, Dundee-Crown and Hampshire were all scheduled to compete in the tournament.

The tournament will not be made up.

Saturday's weather forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rain with temperatures in the low to mid-40s and wind chills in the mid-30s.
