White Sox put it all together in 6-0 win over Indians
Maybe this is the game that finally gets the White Sox going.
Still looking to gain some traction before the Tigers and/or Royals run away and hide in the AL Central, the Sox looked pretty good in a 6-0 win over the Indians Wednesday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field.
The White Sox took the early lead when Jose Abreu hit a solo home run (No. 5) in the first inning for the second straight game.
This one came against Cleveland starter Corey Kluber, the American League Cy Young Award winner last season.
The Sox added another run in the third inning when Abreu grounded into a double play, with Adam Eaton scoring from third base.
In the sixth inning, Avisail Garcia scored from third base on Kluber's wild pitch, and the White Sox broke the game open in the seventh with 3 runs.
Melky Cabrera started the scoring with an RBI single and Abreu followed with a 2-run double.
Starter Jeff Samardzija (1-1) got his first win with the White Sox after pitching 6 scoreless innings. The right-hander allowed 6 hits and 2 walks while throwing 113 pitches.
