Night life: Mickey Finn's first birthday

Mickey Finn's Brewery celebrates the first birthday of its new location in downtown Libertyville with a party beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, April 24, with drums and bagpipers and followed by Johnny Monaco and Erik Donner of Enuff Z'nuff and Trash Martini. Pineapple Express is back on tap for $6.50 or try the Irish Stout $5.50. No cover.

Chili cook-off

Join the Palatine Firefighters' annual chili cook-off from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Durty Nellie's. The day includes chili, the bands Cover Killers and Automatic Neptunes and the Trinity Irish Dancers, along with giveaways. Durty Nellie's beer of the month is the Breckenridge Ophelia for $3.50. The event is $15 per person at the door.

Tokio Pub celebrates four years

Tokio Pub celebrates its four-year anniversary with four courses of its favorite food and drinks. Featured eats include: nachos, tuna butterfly at spring field, back and egg ramen, and birthday cake egg roll. Favorite drinks are titled: "4 Years of Sparkling" Sake, "Happy birthday to us," and "a celebration to another year" Beaujolais, and cake batter booze shake. $45 per person, excluding tax and tip. Reservations required. All guests receive a $40 gift certificate for a future visit.
