Elgin postpones Trillium Park dedication

Note: The Trillium Park dedication scheduled for Saturday, April 25, is being postponed due to the forecasted cold rainy weather. The new date for this event has not yet been established

Elgin — On Saturday, April 25, the City of Elgin, along with the Elgin Community Network, Neighborhood Housing Services and the Ellis Middle School Science NERDS, will be hosting a dedication ceremony at noon at Trillium Park.

These organizations have partnered with neighborhood volunteers to establish Trillium Park through their ongoing coordinated efforts.

Trillium Park is located on Elgin's east side at 319 Illinois Ave., approximately one block north of Villa Avenue.

“Trillium Park is a great example of what can happen when residents, students and partner organizations combine forces to bring about a positive change to our community,” stated Mayor Kaptain. “Through their efforts, Trillium Park has been transformed from a blighted parcel to a beautiful park where neighbors can gather and connect with nature.”

Saturday's dedication ceremony, which takes place at noon, will include a formal ribbon-cutting and dedication comments from representatives of the organizations involved with the project.
