Panel to discuss mental health in Kane County April 28

Join in “Where We Are and Where We are Heading,” a panel discussion on mental health in Kane County, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

Participants will include: Karen Beyer, executive director of Ecker Center for Mental Health; Jerry Murphy, INC Board; Lisa Jacino, DayOne Network; Denise Edwards, executive director of National Alliance for the Mentally Ill- DeKalb, Kane South and Kendall Counties; Lynn O'Shea, president of Association for Individual Development; and Bill Beith, Kane County Mental Health Advisory Committee.

Topics will include: “Health Issues and Service Gaps in Northern Kane County for People with Mental Illness;” “Available Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Services in Kane County;” “The Waiting List for Services;” “Concerns of Families of Individuals with Mental Illness in Our Community;” and “Funding for Mental Illness and Developmental Disability Services in Kane County.”
