McQuail, Cougars notch 1st win

BURLINGTON, Iowa - A 4-run inning helped the Kane County Cougars (1-4) grab their first win of the season, beating the Burlington Bees (4-1) in a 5-3 win at Community Field Monday night.

Steve McQuail's two-out, 3-run double in the top of the third inning helped force out Bees starter Austin Robichaux (0-1) as the Cougars' offense collected 9 hits.

Cougars starter Markus Solbach (1-0) left after 5 innings of shutout baseball. The Bees rallied for 3 runs, but reliever Cody Geyer was able to limit the damage.

Mason McCullough struck out the side in the ninth for his first save of the season.
