Like spring, renew the next season of your life

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

The appearance of the green grass, along with a few red-breasted robins digging for worms, let me know that spring had arrived. Like others, I couldn't wait for the harsh, cold winter nights and gray days to go by.

Spring is a time of awe and wonder. Mysteriously, buds appear on barren tree branches, daylight starts extending itself and we feel a bit more energized. The chirping of birds carrying melodic tunes can be heard in the air. We ponder how the seeds manage to push through the soil to bring forth colorful blossoms that give fragrant aromas to arouse and sooth our senses.

There's nothing like the arrival of spring. It's a season we welcome more than others. It helps us feel rejuvenated after the long winter months take their toll on our minds and bodies.

Historically, it has been known to stir love and romance in our hearts and minds. Old becomes new again as we watch nature resurrect around us.

Just as seasons in nature change, there are seasons to our lives. Ecclesiastes 3:1 indicates that God's way is to bring new seasons. I believe he created the seasons in nature to help us grasp this concept. When the winds of adversity blow, it can be devastating as we suffer loss, hurts, pains and disappointments.

Working through the grief and the emotions of sadness and anger is God's will for us. God has a plan for our lives. Trusting that he is aware of all that has taken place and is caring and concerned for us can bring us comfort in that new season.

Learning new things, accepting our path and reassuring ourselves God has a plan helps us pursue God's will. Letting go of old ties can restore our joy and bring the refreshment of a new season like the beauty and warmth of spring.
