Elgin police investigate report of gunshot

Elgin police were searching near the Buena Vista apartment complex on McLean Boulevard because a gunshot was reported in the area, a police spokesman said Sunday night.

Cmdr. Colin Fleury said there had been a call reporting a disturbance in the area. He said so far police were unable to come up with any evidence that a gun had been fired. No gun has been found, and no one appears to have been shot. Fleury said they are not even positive of which resident called in the gunshot.
