Cubs call up Schlitter, put Grimm on DL
The Chicago Cubs placed right-handed pitcher Justin Grimm on the 15-day disabled list Friday and recalled right-handed pitcher Brian Schlitter from Class AAA Iowa.
Grimm, 26, was shut down due to inflammation in his right forearm, and his time is retroactive to April 2.
Schlitter will be available today for the Cubs when they play the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
Schlitter, 29, went 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA (26 ER/56.1 IP) in 61 appearances for the Cubs last season.
