Six hurt in five-vehicle Gurnee crash
Six people were taken to area hospitals after a crash involving five vehicles in Gurnee Friday morning.
According to Gurnee police, the accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the area of Grand Avenue and Tri-State Parkway.
The accident is still under investigation and no tickets have yet been issued.
"It looked like a couple of cars made contact and one of them went over the median into oncoming lanes," Gurnee Police Cmdr. David Farrow said.
Two of the vehicles, he said, were going east, while the other three were headed west on Grand.
None of the injuries, he said, appear to be life-threatening.
Traffic was blocked in the area for four hours. The call was finally cleared at about 2:45 p.m.
