Mavis Staples heads Blues of the Fox lineup
From roots rock to New Orleans party music to classic blues, Aurora has a jam-packed lineup led by Mavis Staples planned for the 19th annual Blues on the Fox.
One of the Midwest's most heralded blues festivals, Blues on the Fox draws fans of all ages to Aurora's RiverEdge Park for two days of music by nationally touring performers.
The Blues on the Fox double bill for Friday, June 19, opens with Southern blues rockers Royal Southern Brotherhood at 7 p.m., followed by the legendary blues jam band North Mississippi Allstars at 9 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.
Powerhouse roots rock from Moreland & Arbuckle launches the Saturday lineup at 3 p.m., followed by Chicago blues king Otis Taylor Band at 5 p.m., Chicago's first lady of the blues Mavis Staples at 7 p.m. and New Orleans party band Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue at 9 p.m. Gates open at 2 p.m.
A 19-year Aurora tradition, Blues on the Fox is a weekend of live music, cold beer, tasty festival food and good times, all overlooking the Fox River. Tickets are $10 per day through May 31; $20 starting June 1. Children 12 and younger are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

The RiverEdge box office also will be open on-site beginning at 10 a.m. on both Blues on the Fox days.
This event is general admission only. Guests are encouraged to bring folding and bag chairs.
