Bulls expecting Rose to play tonight

If all goes well at the morning shootaround, the Bulls expect Derrick Rose to play tonight against the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center.

Rose has missed 20 games due to arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Feb. 27. He had a loose piece of meniscus cartilage shaved off.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters at Wednesday's shootaround he expects Rose to play about 20 minutes tonight and the hope is Rose can do the same Thursday when the Bulls face Miami.

The Bulls have five games left in the regular season.

Rose has played in 46 of 77 games this season, averaging 18.4 points and 5.0 assists. His last game action was on Feb. 23 against Milwaukee.

Rose returned to full-contact practice on Mar. 30.
