Huntley 17, Belvidere North 7 (5 inn.): The Red Raiders (4-2) made quick work of nonconference opponent Belvidere North as Megan Baczewski (3-for-4) crushed 2 home runs and finished with 4 RBI and Megan Larson went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and 4 RBI. Autumn Kasal (2-for-3, 2 RBI) and Haley Omara (3-for-4, 3 RBI, stolen base) each doubled and homered while pitcher Kateri Conklin improved to 4-1 with 11 strikeouts. She was charged with 7 runs, 4 earned, 8 hits, 5 walks in 5 innings.

Westminster Christian 21, Christian Life 14: Runs were in vast supply in the Warriors' season debut over the Eagles. Westminster (1-0, 1-0) tallied at least 4 runs or more in the first 3 innings in Northeastern Athletic action, pounding out 16 hits against 11 allowed. Drew Randazzo (RBI) went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and a walk and Jackie Calabrese's only hit was a grand slam. Sarah Schmitt went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple and 2 RBI while Kristen Mason (4 RBI) and Rachel Rich (2 RBI, 3 BB) both laced doubles. Mason also earned the win, giving up 6 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and 4 walks with 6 strikeouts.

Bartlett 5, West Chicago 1: Lauren Janczak's 2-for-4, 4-RBI effort along with Danielle Kirby's strong pitching performance lifted the Hawks (6-2-1, 1-0) in Upstate Eight crossover action. Kibry pitched a 2-hitter, holding the Wildcats to an earned run with 7 strikeouts to improve to 4-1-1 overall. Katie Fornoff added to the Bartlett offense with 2 hits and 1 run scored.

Glenbard South 8, St. Edward 2: The Green Wave (5-1-1) suffered their first defeat in Metro Suburban West action, as the Raiders' 4-run sixth concluded matters. Rachel Lesh went 1-for-2 with a walk while Ryann Scully scored a run and stole a base. Allison Stratman and Lindsay Zdroik each singled. Zdroik (4-1-1) gave up 5 hits, 3 earned runs, 1 walk while striking out two in 6 innings.

Harlem 8, CL South 6: Suffering its first loss of the season, CL South (6-1) dropped a nonconference matchup after a 6-spot in the fourth doomed the Gators. Taylor Kassell went 3-for-4 (RBI) with a double while Amy Ciaverella (3-for-4) knocked in 3 runs. Both Haley Massie and Carly Chovanec were 2-for-4 with an RBI as the Gators amassed 13 hits. Sam Burgard, who gave up 7 hits, 8 runs (5 earned) and 9 walks was charged with the loss despite her 3 strikeouts.

Fremd 9, Jacobs 6: The Golden Eagles (1-6) let a 1-run lead slip away as the Vikings rallied with 2 in the sixth and 3 in the seventh for the nonconference win. Both Taylor Belo and Alexis Addante each had a hit and run knocked in. Addante was charged with the loss, allowing 9 earned runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 7 innings pitched.

Metea Valley 4, Elgin 1: Sabrina Stockman's RBI single in the seventh was the only bright spot for the Maroons in a UEC crossover loss. Jessica Rago suffered the loss in the circle. She struck out 1 and allowed 4 runs with 3 earned on 8 hits. Madison Latham reached on a double for Elgin (0-8, 0-1).

Neuqua Valley 11, Streamwood 0 (5 inn.): The Sabres (3-5, 0-1) dropped their first conference game in UEC crossover action. Pitcher Jessica Daley dropped to 2-4 overall while the team mustered just 2 hits in 5 innings.

Waubonsie Valley 22, Larkin 1: Haley Bohne's solo shot in the fourth inning accounted for the Royals' lone run and hit in an Upstate Eight crossover loss.
