Cuisine for a Cause features 20 restaurants, mobile bidding

Tastings from more than 20 of Naperville's restaurants and new mobile bidding will highlight Naperville CARES' 12th annual Cuisine for a Cause fundraiser from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Navistar's corporate headquarters, 2701 Navistar Drive, Lisle.

"Cuisine is a fun, lively evening and over the years has grown to become one of Naperville's largest cocktail parties, where 500 guests gather with their friends to raise funds to benefit the programs of Naperville CARES," said Naperville CARES' Executive Director Janet Derrick,

"Since 2004, Cuisine for a Cause has raised $1.3 million to support the programs of Naperville CARES. Every year our dedicated cuisine steering committee, chaired by Karen Garlough of My Chef Catering, come up with new ways to entertain our guests, and this year we are excited to have a new auctioneer who hails from Tennessee along with the addition of mobile bidding for the silent auction."

Along with samples of the restaurants' signature dishes, Cuisine for a Cause will feature an open bar, wine and beer tasting, and auctions. Terri Walker of Walker Auctions will bring her unique style to the event for a fun and lively auction.

New this year, mobile bidding will let guests browse auction items, place bids and pay for items all straight from their mobile phones. Mobile bidding also will allow guests to register for the auction before the event, bid on items a week before the event, receive text messages when outbid, set a maximum bid on their favorite items and enjoy easier checkout.

Individual reservations for Cuisine for a Cause are offered for open seating at $100 a person. The reservation price includes food, drink and entertainment, and can be purchased online at www.napervillecares.org or by calling the CARES office at (630) 369-0200.
