Barrington's boys water polo team made it unscathed through the first half of the Mid-Suburban West slate by claiming a 13-8 victory over visiting Palatine on Monday.
Marshall Mathias and JIM Gibson led the unbeaten Broncos (13-0, 5-0) with 3 goals, while senior Chase Lesniak scored once and had 5 assists and Mitch Gavars had 2 goals and 2 assists and Matt Gouskos had 2 goals.
Ryan Schlaiss paced the Pirates (2-8, 1-4) with 3 goals and 5 ejections drawn, and Marcus Carter-Buckman had 3 goals.
Wheeling 10, Hersey 6: The visiting Wildcats made it through the first half of the MSL East schedule without a loss, rallying for 5 goals in the fourth quarter to get separation against Hersey.
Nate Reiff had 5 goals, including 3 in the fourth quarter. Kyle Noel had 2 goals in the fourth, and Jake Noel had 2 goals in the second period for Wheeling (6-9, 5-0).
