Name used wrongly, without permission

My name is Barbara Reed Turner. My family and I have lived in Long Grove for more than 70 years. Our homes have stood on the Reed-Turner Woodlands property for decades. I am so pleased that so many village residents have reveled in the beauty of this wonderful property. Having been a resident here for so many years, I cherish my community and want to see it well managed, developed thoughtfully and be a place in which we can always take pride.

Long Grove residents received a mailing this week from the "Investing in Long Grove" slate of candidates. I am distressed by this mailing and want to state publicly that I have not endorsed the "investing" slate as was indicated on the flyer to village residents.

Let me be clear, in no way did the Wachs group ask for my endorsement, nor did I offer it. I resent very much my name being misused this way. This is a serious misstatement regarding the endorsement of the "investing" candidates.

While citizens are considering candidates for trustee in this highly contentious election, I want to be sure that my vote counts because each and every vote may make a difference in the outcome of this election.

I am left to wonder how many other names were used without consent? I endorse and will be voting for Bill Jacob, Stanley Borys and Michael Sarlitto, the Voice of Long Grove candidates.
