Five things to do to fix Illinois
Five things to do to fix Illinois
Much of the Illinois government illustrates how not to operate. Illinois is broke. Some possibilities:
1. The state legislature got us in this mess, it is their responsibility to get us out. Start by cutting their state allotted expense accounts 10 percent per year until the budget is fixed, or until they have no expense account.
2. Cut the 7,000-plus current governmental units in the state by 1,000 for the next four years.
3. Eliminate lieutenant governor position.
4. Combine state treasurer and comptroller offices.
5. Take whatever monies saved and hire ex-FBI, IRS Specialists, CFOs and give them unlimited access to all state legislators finances to find the graft, waste, corruption, etc. and allowing them to keep half of their findings to increase the size and scope of their jurisdiction. This would extend from the governor down to the clerks at the drivers license bureaus.
