Create a butterfly garden during April 12 nature program

Make your own butterfly garden during a Forest Preserve District of Kane County "Garden Workshop Series."

Join district naturalists for a fun and interactive series of gardening programs. Attendees will learn about the natural and cultural impact of plants species that can grow in our gardens. Following an informative discussion, participants will be provided with a pot, materials and plants to create their very own arrangement to take home.

The first workshop will be 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles. At this workshop, you will learn about butterfly gardens.

The second workshop will be about herb gardens on Sunday, April 26. The last workshop of this series will be on vegetable gardens Saturday, May 9.

Registration is $10 per person, per garden, and includes the materials. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register. Advance registration is required.

Creek Bend Nature Center is located within LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.
