Barrington's Reiser gets European football opportunity

Barrington senior Matt Reiser is playing a long, long way from home on Saturday.

Reiser, a 5-foot-11, 225-pound offensive lineman who is having a once-in-a-lifetime experience, will be competing in an international all-star football game on Saturday in Milan, Italy.

Reiser will play for the USA-AFW ELITE team, which is facing the Italian national team. Kickoff is at 4 p.m., Italian time.

Barrington coach Joe Sanchez said it is the same game in which his assistant Dan Young coached a few years ago with former Broncos Mason Darrow, Eric Dowdy and Brock Workman.
