Prospect rallies past Cary-Grove

Prospect's baseball team found a way to win again Thursday.

The visiting Knights pulled one out with a run in the top of the seventh, right after host Cary-Grove had tied it with 2 in the bottom of the sixth inning as Prospect won 3-2 in nonconference play.

Patrick Donohue reached on a fielder's choice and stole second before Matt Nadler drove him in with a single.

Dan Devereux earned the victory in relief after starter Nick Donzelli allowed 1 earned run in 5 innings for the Knights (8-1).

Niles West 10, Elk Grove 7: The host Grens made a game of it by rallying for 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, but it still wasn't enough after Niles West plated 7 runs in the second.

Jack McEnroe and Bobby Hlavin each drove in 2 runs and had 2 hits for Elk Grove (3-3).

Mundelein 10, Conant 0 (5 inn.): Jimmy McLauglin had a pair of hits but on this day the Cougars were no match for Mundelein, as Reeses Dolan allowed 3 hits in a Mustangs victory.
