Library Invites Children to Storytime, Concert & Theatre Program
Children have opportunities to learn while having fun in April at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd. Many activities are taking place in the kidsZone, including the following free programs.
"El Día Storytime," for infants and children through age five, will be held from 6:30-6:50 p.m., Wednesday, April 8 in Program Room 1. Children will be entertained with stories and songs in Spanish. "Día" celebrates children, families and reading, while emphasizing the importance of literacy for children of all cultural backgrounds. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. No registration is required for this drop-in program.
"Good Mischief Concert," for ages 3-6 is scheduled from 1:30-2:15 p.m., Thursday, April 9 in Program Room 1. Gemini, an award-winning musical duo, will present an enjoyable family concert using a dozen instruments. The rousing program will include hand motion tunes, folk tales and music from around the world. Limited tickets will be distributed in the kidsZone at 1:10 p.m.
"Endangered Animals! What's a Kid to Do?" will be presented by Kidworks Touring Theatre for children ages 4 and up from 4-4:45 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, in the Rasmussen Room. Actors will portray newscasters uncovering how poaching, pollution, predators and plastic affect wildlife. Audience members will help perform scenes featuring polar bears, penguins, monkeys, sea turtles, elephants, whales and more. This high-energy show will captivate children as they learn about respecting and protecting wildlife. Limited tickets will be distributed in the kidsZone at 3:40 p.m.
