Lake-Cook Road completely reopens after car hits utility pole near Schaeffer Road

Lake-Cook Road has been completely reopened near Buffalo Grove after a car hit a utility pole, authorities said.

Sgt. Curtis Gregory of the Lake County Sheriff's Office said the roadway was reduced to one lane in each direction at Schaeffer Road due to a property damage accident at 4:30 a.m.

He said the roadway was shut down while crews fixed utility poles damaged in the crash.

He said no one was injured in the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The accident caused a power outage for about 400 residents in the area, officials said. ComEd is reporting on their website that less than five customers are still affected.
