Lamore, Conant top Fremd
Braden Lamore scored 4 goals and Connor Schmitz, Ryan Estep, Mihir Patel and Cody had 3 apiece to help the Cougars move into second place by themselves in the Mid-Suburban West boys water polo race with an 18-10 victory over Fremd in a contest played at Schaumburg on Wednesday.
Fremd (5-5, 2-2) is tied for third place in the West with Schaumburg, while Conant (4-1, 3-1) is 1 game behind West leader Barrington.
Barrington 15, Hoffman Estates 14: The West-leading Broncos maintained their division lead by the slimmest of margins against the visiting Hawks. Barrington remains unbeaten at 12-0 overall and 4-0 in the West.
Hersey 10, Elk Grove 5: Eric Dieterich led the way with 4 goals as the Huskies earned an MSL East victory over the visting Grens.
Hersey led 8-0 after the third quarter before Elk Grove produced all its scoring in the fourth.
Schaumburg 12, Palatine 10 (OT): The host Saxons scored the final three goals of regulation and the first three of overtime to pull out a Mid-Suburban West victory.
Tyler Gustafson and Frank Kovar both had 4 goals for the Saxons, and James Birriel had 3, including a tying goal with 11 seconds left in regulation, while Jack Pyde provided 5 assists.
Ryan Schlaiss led the Pirates with 6 goals and Marcus Carter-Buckman had 2.
Prospect 10, Buffalo Grove 8: Sam Gabriel produced 6 goals and Isaac Ginnodo had 4 to power Prospect's victory at BG.
Ryan Lawson had 4 goals to pace the Bison and Anthony Sorgani had 2.
