Sisters of the Living Word raise awareness, bestow awards
On Feb. 13, the Sisters of the Living Word, with headquarters in Arlington Heights, held their 27th annual benefit to support the sisters, who work with those who are hurting and in crisis.
Mardi Gras Magic 2015 was attended by 240 guests and took place at The Cotillion in Palatine. The event netted more than $37,000.
Sister Simone Campbell, SSS, executive director of Network in Washington, D.C. and author of "Nuns on the Bus" received the Partners in Mission Award while attorney Joe Klein of St. Charles, whose law firm is located in Rolling Meadows, received the Volunteer of the Year Award.
