Elgin 360 Photo Club talks landscape photography

On Thursday, April 9, Keith French of Keith French Photography will lead the April Elgin 360 Photography Club meeting with tips on outdoor and landscape photography at 7 p.m. at Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in downtown Elgin. There is a suggested donation of $3 at the door.

French is a full-time professional photographer with an extensive background in several types of photography dating back to 1984. His nine years as a full-service retail camera store, studio, and photo lab owner gave him a unique look into the full circle of the photographic industry. Selling gear and accessories, teaching, shooting and also printing, Keith has a well-rounded repertoire of photographic experience. With these photographic experiences and his enjoyment of teaching and being around people passionate for the art of photography, Keith brings a unique combination of fun and knowledge to his workshops and classes.

The April presentation will feature images from his photography workshop in southern Illinois, showing how images were set up and how they were photographed. Then Keith will review some of the hot spots to photograph in southern Illinois.

As an added incentive, Keith will offer Elgin 360 Photography Club members to participate in his Southern Illinois Photographic workshop from April 23-26. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information about the Southern Illinois Photographic workshop, visit www.kfrenchphoto.com.

The April Elgin 360 Photography Club meeting will be preceded by a pre-meeting dinner at a local downtown Elgin restaurant (TBA) beginning at 5:30 p.m.
