214@100: Sven Cederberg, a memorable part of BGHS

William Lyon Phelps once said, "A student never forgets an encouraging private word, when it is given with sincere respect and admiration." Truer words were never spoken when describing Sven Cederberg, a member of the Buffalo Grove High School security staff. "Every day, I drive over to BG and before I get out of my car, I say a prayer on how I can make a difference in one's life today," Cederberg said. "Education is important, but character and having a purpose in life are equally, if not more, important." Cederberg is a staple at Buffalo Grove, and his wise words often guide students in a positive direction. "The love that has been expressed by students makes leaving my position in the future the most difficult thing," Cederberg said. "No doubt I could write a book about students' willingness to listen."
