Batavia seeks doughnut shop burglar

Batavia police continue to look for a man who tried to burglarize a Dunkin' Donuts store March 16.

They believe it may be the same man sought by other area police departments, according to a news release.

At 1:28 a.m., Batavia police discovered the burglary at the store at 2002 W. Wilson St.

Store video showed the offender walked up to the store and tried to pry open the drive-up window. Unsuccessful, he then broke a window on the east side of the building, entered and walked to the manager's office. He pried the office door open and looked at a safe, but didn't try to open it. He left through a rear door.

Nothing was taken.

Police said the man appears to be white or Hispanic.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Michelle Langston at (630) 454-2000.
