PAL Event Showcases Tastes of Italy
Clearbrook
On Sunday, March 15, Maggiano's Little Italy at the Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg opened its doors to host the 18th annual Clearbrook's PAL (Partners in Adult Learning) Program fundraiser where friends and family alike were encouraged to "mangia, mangia" while supporting a worthy cause.
This fun-filled afternoon had many new surprises to offer to the 260 people who attended, including a delicious traditional family-style meal with all the Italian trimmings. Guests were treated to appetizers, beverages, and a traditional three course family-style meal.
Highlights of the live auction included an autographed Patrick Kane Blackhawks stick, a Nashville Getaway Package including accommodations at the Opryland Hotel and concert tickets for Bob Seger and Rascall Flats, Lollapalooza tickets and Ravinia tickets to see Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga.
"We are very grateful to have such a large group of dedicated supporters," said Paul Jochim, PAL Program parent and one of the event organizers. "Through their kindness and generosity, we can continue creating opportunities and opening doors for many years to come."
PAL is a partnership between Clearbrook, Northwest Special Recreational Association, Community Alternatives Unlimited and families of young adults over 18 years of age with developmental disabilities and physical challenges who have graduated out of the school system. PAL offers its participants year round, full-day programming aimed at providing experiences, services and supports that promote lifelong learning and community membership.
