Perdue, Lakes warm to the challenge in Florida

Ally Perdue pitched a 2-hit shutout, as Lakes' softball team opened its Florida trip Sunday with a 3-0 win over Ramsey.

Melanie Grupka had 2 hits and an RBI for Lakes (2-0), while Rachel Becker contributed a hit, 2 walks and an RBI. The Eagles scored single runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings.

Perdue struck out six.

"Pretty tough team," Lakes coach Bill Hamill said. "But we did well. It was a good defensive battle."
