Fire destroys Wheeling garage

A Tuesday morning fire in Wheeling destroyed a garage, fire officials said.

The homeowner on the 600 block of South Merle Lane discovered her detached garage on fire about 9:50 a.m., said Wheeling Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Kosick.

Although no one was injured, Kosick said the garage was a complete loss and will need to be torn down.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Kosick said they have not found anything suspicious at this point.
