No-hitter by committee as St. Viator rolls
St. Viator took advantage of the balmy temperatures Monday to open its baseball season, and the Lions pitchers were already in midseason form.
George Burny, Kevin Napoleon and Aaron Tres combined to no-hit Highland Park as St. Viator won 5-0. The trio fanned seven and allowed just baserunners - one on a walk, and one on an error.
"It was a great day to play, so we moved up our game from later this week," St. Viator coach Mike Manno said. "The kids pitched great. We had them on a pitch count because it is still so early in season."
Cole Kmet had a 2-run triple and later scored on Ron Bailitz' double at St. Viator scored all of its runs in the fifth inning.
