Oakton to host nanotechnology workshop Friday
Companies will have the opportunity to learn more about the potential application of nanoscience in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and research and development in a free workshop presented by Oakton Community College from 7 to 9:30 a.m., Friday, March 20, at the Illinois Science and Technology Park (IS+TP) Conference Center, 8045 Lemon Ave., Skokie.
Attendees can find out how local industrial representatives incorporate nanotechnology into their processes and gain hands-on experience with lab equipment. Companies will learn ways their business can use Oakton's lab at the IS+TP and of the college's nanotech courses.
Participants must register by March 18 at ne3i1503.eventbrite.com. Sign up includes laboratory fees and continental breakfast.
The workshop is sponsored by Oakton; The Nanotechnology Education, Employment and Economic development Initiative (NE3I); and Nano-Link, a Regional Center of the National Science Foundation. This event is made possible by a grant from the Searle Funds at the Chicago Community Trust.
