1 dead, 1 wounded in shooting outside Fort Wayne nightclub

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Northeastern Indiana police say one man was fatally shot and another was wounded outside a Fort Wayne nightclub.

Fort Wayne police spokesman Officer Chris Felton tells WANE-TV (http://bit.ly/1MFerPx ) the men were shot early Sunday outside Piere's Entertainment Center as hundreds of patrons were leaving the club.

Authorities were withholding the dead man's name, pending notification of relatives. The Allen County Coroner says preliminary autopsy results show that he died from a gunshot wound and his death was ruled a homicide.

The second victim was treated and released from a hospital Sunday.

Felton says Fort Wayne police officers working security at the nightclub had just finished breaking up a small fight when they heard several gunshots in the parking lot. They pushed through a crowd outside and found the wounded men.
