Raptors' Valanciunas gets night off after birth of son

TORONTO (AP) - Toronto center Jonas Valanciunas sat out the Raptors' game against the Miami Heat on Friday night, a day after the birth of his son.

Valanciunas' wife, Egle, gave birth late Thursday. The baby weighed in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

"He's a proud father of Jonas Jr.," Toronto coach Dwane Casey said.

The 7-footer from Lithuania was with his wife in Toronto.
