Elk Grove Village bans smoking at annual Rotaryfest
Elk Grove Village's annual Rotaryfest summer festival will be smoke-free starting this year.
The village board approved an ordinance this week putting in place a smoking ban at the fest, held every June at Lions Park. The new rules were requested by the Rotary Club.
Smoking already is prohibited at other village-sponsored outdoor events, including the summer concert series, Memorial Day celebration, and Fourth of July fireworks.
