Rosemont purchases manufacturing building for $700,000
The village of Rosemont is purchasing a manufacturing building north of the Allstate Arena for $700,000.
The 14,000-square-foot building at 7047-7059 Barry St. is one of about 10 remaining businesses in the neighborhood, which is home to a number of apartment buildings and the Barry Street Recreational Center.
Mayor Brad Stephens said the property owner approached village officials about selling. Its tenant, Corro-Shield International, manufactures epoxy resins for commercial and industrial floors and wall coatings. It has a lease until July 2016.
Stephens said the property could be used for additional stadium parking in the future, or other redevelopment.
