Call holidays by their true names

Patricia C. Nora of Vernon Hills wrote a beautiful letter regarding the signs in her village promoting "Hopping Holiday Easter Egg Hunt." With all the hate and problems in this world, why is Vernon Hills creating more?

There is no such thing as a "hopping holiday" or a "holiday tree." Christmas and Easter are very religious holidays for us Christians. Christmas is the birth of Christ and Easter is the resurrection, in case you didn't know it.

A good rule to follow is to respect other peoples beliefs and religion the way you want yours to be treated. You are not doing this. What a poor example you set for your community.

If I had small children and lived in Vernon Hills, I would never take them to your "Hopping Holiday Egg Hunt." It's very offensive and degrading to me. Either call Christmas and Easter by their correct names or eliminate everything.
