Hadley Junior High School set to dazzle audiences this weekend with Shrek the Musical Jr. Fun for the whole family.

GLEN ELLYN - More than 100 talented Hadley Junior High School students are set to open the curtains with Shrek the Musical Jr. based on the award winning DreamWorks animation film. This show promises fun for the entire family.

The sixth- to eighth-grade performers have been working on the play since December. An army of volunteers including set designers, production teams and backstage hands helped in the effort. The play features musical numbers and a poignant story, all backed by a profession-grade sound, lighting and staging system.

"This is a twisted fairy tale with everyone's favorite Ogre that is both entertaining and meaningful," said the directors. "The kids have worked very hard to make sure the audience is dazzled with the sets, costumes, music and characters. This will be a show that delights all ages."

The theater program is produced through the Hadley PTA. Performances will take place at Hadley Junior High School, 240 Hawthorne Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. The performances will be on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday March 14th at 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 15th at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at TICKETS or purchased at the show, subject to availability.
