Police use drug to help overdose victim

Mundelein police used a drug designed to counter the effects of a heroin overdose on Saturday to help someone during an emergency call, authorities said. Officers found the man in a bathroom after being called to a house on the 0-100 block of North Emerald Avenue, according to a news release. After police administered the drug, the man began to breathe. He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was treated and then released.
