I have years of board experience, serving charitable corporate interests. I believe that governmental service should blend the best of these two worlds. I love where I live, and will work hard to give all Campton Hills residents that opportunity. I will do this while always being fiscally prudent with the residents resources. What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Taxes are never just right! In any community, they must reflect opportunity along with responsibility. In this recovering economy; additional taxes are the wrong medicine. In Campton Hills, municipal property taxes are just right ..... THERE ARE NONE!!Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?I do not have any specific public safety concerns. I like seeing a patrol come by my home on a regular basis. The efficiency of said service may be something else; future liabilities for this service are rising quickly.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Legal services are running too high, they have already reached the amount budgeted for the entire year. The Village is incurring extra legal costs for board meetings because of needless tensions at board meetings. As an elected trustee, I would work under the guidance of "Service Above Self" and work to protect the residents finances. This might free up a little funding to promote our local business'.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?In an effort to bring more economic activity and thus revenues to Campton Hills; I would try to leverage the Great Western Trail to foster more local commerce from visitors to our beautiful semi-rural community. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Maintaining the "Campton Hills" quality of life, this is a beautiful and peaceful community. However, the eventuality of civic progress and growth coming from the east is certain. We must plan for this while exercising fiscal restraint. Maintaining our semi-rural flavor while implementing some measured growth .... is the job of a dedicated Village Trustee. This is an oath I am ready to take! Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Bill Gates. Because his vision guided the information age we live in, now he's spending his earned billions; making sure all have access to it.What's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Respect everyone, no matter what differences they may exhibit from you.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Having children, we were not blessed. I would love shepherd them to be the best they could be, thus making me a better person. What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Physics - it helped me understand the general physical workings of our living world; which makes other human complexities easier to understand. If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Having none; have tried to convey to other youth. That life itself is precious; you should enjoy it and learn from it every day.
