Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?I was initially appointed to the board to fill a vacancy. I have learned a lot about how libraries are run and what it takes to keep it going, I am motivated to give back to my community and this is one way that I am able to do that.If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of important initiatives you've led. If you are a non-incumbent, tell us what contributions you would make.My background in nursing management and education has been helpful as we have been reviewing and developing policies for the library and the personnel.Do you have a library card? How long have you had it? How often do you use it?Yes. We got our library cards shortly after we moved to North Aurora. I use my card on a regular basis. I check out eBooks several times a month or more.Space is an issue at many libraries. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain.As you know we just went through renovation to improve the space for our children. There will always be a need for a place to gather, the way libraries will be used is always being evaluated. We will listen to our constituents and get their input as we have done in the past 2 years that I have been on the board before we make a big decision to build or do away with items.What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change?The impact the economy has had on the library is we see more people using our facilities. More groups are coming in to use our meeting spaces, residents come in to utilize the computers.
