Effingham School Board OKs advertising at football games
EFFINGHAM, Ill. (AP) - Advertisers will be able to make a pitch to consumers during Effingham High School football games.
The Effingham Daily News reports that (http://bit.ly/1BdGnbH ) the Unit 40 School Board has approved the sale of advertising signs, which will be displayed along the track that divides the football field from the stands starting this fall.
Activities Director Dave Woltman says the 2-foot-by-8-foot A-frame signs will cost $1,000 for two years. They'll be taken down between games.
Superintendent Mark Doan says the signs will look "classy."
He says if the program is a success, the district will consider allowing advertising during other sporting events. But it also can be stopped at any time if officials don't like it.
