Faulty sensor blamed in Peoria courthouse leak
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) - A Peoria County official is blaming a faulty sensor for water damage that ruined three courtrooms at the local courthouse earlier this month.
Assistant County Administrator Scott Sorrell said the sensor's failure led to a break in a coil that contained hot water used to heat the building.
According to the Journal Star in Peoria (http://bit.ly/1Dm3akw ), at least 130 gallons of water was released into the courtrooms and the circuit clerk's office sometime on Feb. 14.
County officials still aren't sure how long repairs will take or the exact cost of the damage.
The county has been moving court cases around in the building to make up for the loss of space.
