Des Plaines Community Foundation offers college scholarships

The Des Plaines Community Foundation is offering four $1,500 scholarships to college students pursuing either two-year or four-year degrees.

Students must be residents of Des Plaines, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and provide a 100-word statement of their personal goals and a 500-word essay about how they have participated in community service or worked to support themselves or their family. They must also provide their high school transcripts.

High school seniors may apply, but must be enrolled in college for the fall semester of 2015.
