Police: Barricade situation ends in Elgin

A standoff involving a person barricaded in a home on the 500 block of East Chicago in Elgin has ended, authorities said.

Elgin police were called to the scene at about 4:15 a.m., authorities said. The situation ended at about 7:30 a.m., authorities said.

The incident was contained to the area of East Chicago Street, east of Channing and west of Liberty.

Officials said no additional information is being released at the this time.
