FDA should test herbal products

I recently read that New York tested several herbal "medicines" sold by Walmart, Walgreens, GNC and Target to discover they were loaded with fillers and plant material and rice not mentioned on the labels. No wonder there's no advantage to take them.

Why don't we make the FDA test herbal products just like drugs? They'd insure they're labeled accurately and consumers would know what they're putting in their bodies.

But, politicians will scream "big government" and we don't need more regulation. It will likely be the ones receiving huge donations to their campaign coffers from the giant herbal manufacturers.
