Awards for Visit Lake County:

Visit Lake County received two Illinois Excellence in Tourism Awards at the 2015 Illinois Governor's Conference on Travel & Tourism, officials announced Thursday. The awards, presented in 11 categories, honor the innovative work of industry professionals. Visit Lake County won for Best Cooperative Partnership and Best Visitors Guide. Entries were judged by a panel of marketing and tourism professionals. The Best Co-op Partnership Award was earned for the 2014 Next Weekend Summer Campaign. The 2014 Visitors Guide, a 60-page digest size magazine, helped kick off summer with the theme, 'Next Weekend.' Visit Lake County is the destination marketing organization for Lake County, and represents municipalities, hotels, attractions and hospitality related businesses. It provides travel information and services for visitors and event planners through 1-800-LAKE-NOW and www.visitlakecounty.org.
