Obama right on health care, immigration
It is a relief to hear another writer point to the fallacy perpetrated by the extreme right and Fox News when they try to tout the preferences of the American people by "poll." Where do they get off saying that the American people are against immigration and the Affordable Care Act? I was never in any such poll, were you? Do the "right" and Fox have some kind of radar that gives them these theories?
It is interesting that the Republicans call President Obama a terrible president when they subjected the country to George Bush for eight years. What are these critics thinking? Bush and company introduced the popular prescription drugs program with lots of ditches at its outset. Note: The Democrats did not vote 40 times to cancel the ACA. And now, after a predictable rough start. it is working just fine. In fact it is now being pointed out that the excuses by insurance companies for expensive health care can no longer fly. The rest of us were paying for uninsured folks. Now those folks can buy their own insurance. Congress should call these companies to task by making them reduce the costs of medical insurance. But the Republicans can't stand such good news. They will try again and again to repeal health care.
As for the immigration stalemate, the blame goes directly to Speaker John Boehner for refusing to bring the Senate bill to a vote in the House. Shame on him and his supporters. All of our forbearers were immigrants at one time, and all Obama is trying to do in not separate families.
Well, folks, we can now sit back and let the majority party now in Congress, who do not understand the meaning of cooperation, run the country.
