Mid-Michigan park gets more water access as part of overhaul
NOTTAWA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A mid-Michigan park is getting improved water access when it opens for the season this spring.
The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant reports (http://bit.ly/1C9qnDt ) workers recently finished dredging the original boat launch at Coldwater Lake Family Park in Isabella County's Nottawa Township. It will make way for a second floating dock that will feature a canoe and kayak launch system.
County Parks and Recreation Director Sue Ann Kopmeyer says the upgrades will make it easier for people to launch from the dock without having to set foot in the water.
Kopmeyer says Coldwater Lake Family Park, which has been open since the 1970s, offers swimming, fishing, camping and watercraft access.
A playground renovation and campground improvements also are planned at the park.
