Conley's 21, 16 from Gasol lead Grizzlies past Hawks, 94-88

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Mike Conley had 21 points and six assists, Marc Gasol finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Atlanta Hawks 94-88 on Sunday.

The game was tied at 86 after Mike Scott's 3-pointer with 3:24 left before Memphis scored the next eight points to put away the game.

Zach Randolph had 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Kosta Koufos finished with 10 points and seven rebounds as Memphis outrebounded the Hawks 55-37.

One of those rebounds provided the tiebreaking basket, with Tony Allen tipping in Randolph's miss to make it 88-86 with 2:28 remaining.

Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 22 points, shooting 9 of 13, while Kent Bazemore added 14 points. Dennis Schroder and Scott finished with 11 apiece off the Atlanta bench and DeMarre Carroll scored 10.

The Hawks converted 12 of 30 from 3-point range, with Scott and Schroder combining to go 5 for 7.

Memphis made only three 3-pointers, but all came in the fourth quarter, including a pair by Conley.

The game featured the best team in the East against the Western Conference's second-best team. But the first half was quite a change from the up-tempo pace of the Hawks' 124-116 win Friday night over the Golden State Warriors, the top team in the West. This time, things were slow, methodical and physical.

While the game continued at a pace that would seem to favor Memphis, the Hawks were the ones benefitting as they extended their lead to as many as seven in the third quarter. The Grizzlies continued to misfire from the field, and the Hawks converted four 3-pointers in the period.

Memphis crafted a 10-0 run to retake the lead in the third. Schroder's 3-pointer ended the rally, but Memphis closed the quarter on a 15-3 run capped by Koufos' dunk as the horn sounded for a 69-66 lead.

Atlanta led 43-42 at halftime as neither team shot particularly well.
